Initiative for COVID 19 Relief

India is going through a rough phase as coronavirus outbreak upends many aspects of daily life. We are quarantined at homes but our community is in desperate need of basics supplies to make it through the crisis. This lockdown has social and economic impacts. Millions of Indians are dependent on each day’s wages for their daily meal. The current lockdown in the country creates a critical need for food. The Webcom Foundation together with the social platform Life Talk Delhi, Roadhouse Café (M22 Market, GK1, New Delhi) and numerous volunteers are focused on delivering support for the families at key locations: Kamal Nayan Society Slum School in Okhla Phase 2 &Tughlakabad Village. These are the areas we all had been working with for the past year, providing educational workshops and support to the needy. The majority of families of the disabled kids from the Webcom Foundation Centre reside there as well. We want to ensure they will all make it through the hard times and we will see the children smiling again! The Webcom Foundation provides transport & distributes the food directly to the people. The Roadhouse Café provides 500 meals daily, while the social network ensures the word is spread and more people take part in the good cause.

So far we achieved:

  • 14000 meals for the needy
  • Dry good distributed to over 500 families
  • Face masks & sanitary items to thousands of people!

We will not stop now! “Mera Bachpan” Project is on. We are providing hot nutritious meals to children under the age of 10 years three times a week, managing to feed over 500 each time. We want to make sure their childhoods are not wasted and they remain healthy and happy despite the difficult current situation.
